Bakari Adams

Biographie: Bakari Adams is a Managing Director and Head of Starwood Impact Investors at Starwood Capital Group, where he leads a dynamic platform that invests in joint ventures and operating companies, with a focus on diverse sponsors. Prior to joining Starwood Capital, Bakari was a Partner, Investment Committee Member and Head of Asset Management and Head of ESG at Interstate Equities Corporation (IEC). He also served as Senior Director of Asset Management at Veritas Investments and spent a decade at MacFarlane Partners where he first began his real estate career. He has been responsible for overseeing investment management, development oversight, and asset management across a diverse range of asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, hotels, and land. Bakari received a B.A. degree in Finance and International Business from Howard University, and an M.B.A. degree with a concentration in Real Estate and Finance from Columbia Business School. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bakari is an active member of San Francisco’s District 10 planning committee and serves as a Trustee for the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, encompassing the de Young and Legion of Honor Museums.
