Kenny Lipschutz

Biographie:
Kenny Lipschutz was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of HomeFirst Certified Communities, a developer of manufactured home communities based in Birmingham, Michigan. HomeFirst owned nine manufactured communities with more than 4,300 home sites and approximately 15,000 residents. After selling the portfolio and co-investing with Chicago-based private equity fund Green Courte Partners in August 2018, Kenny led the company’s consumer finance group, providing loan brokerage services to resident applicants. Kenny also serves on Green Courte’s Board of Directors working on a number of ventures within the fund including its development of a workforce/attainable housing program. Kenny also serves on the boards of Fyllo, a sophisticated performance and brand marketing firm headquartered in Chicago and Citrine MHC, a Chicago based financial services company focused on bringing more affordable financing to homeowners in manufactured home communities. Kenny’s efforts in workforce housing have been focused in the Roaring Fork Valley including the establishment of a group of experts in the field of real estate development, finance, planning & design, management and construction to assist in developing solutions ideally based in public/private partnership. Green Courte’s Windward Communities division oversees 23 manufactured home communities presently in the portfolio with properties in Michigan, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Kansas and Missouri. Kenny has also developed upscale modular housing in the City of Detroit in partnership with former NBA Hall of Famer and Detroit Mayor, Dave Bing, and in Vail Colorado to provide quality workforce housing to dozens of families. He has also led a number of other residential projects that have been completed in Park City, Utah, Kirkwood, California, Durango, Vail and Winter Park, Colorado. Kenny is past Chairman of the Urban Land Institute's Manufactured Housing Communities Council and now serves on its Recreational (Resort) Development Council. Kenny was treasurer and president for eight years of the Michigan Manufactured Housing Association. Kenny is an active member of the Manufactured Housing Institute and its National Communities Council where he has worked to develop successful manufactured home (chattel) financing programs with a number of regional and national lenders including Triad Financial, Cascade Financial, FirstBank, 21st Mortgage, Country Place Mortgage, Clayton Bank & Trust, Oxford Bank, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Huntington Bank and others. Kenny is a member of Tiger21, the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), served on the American Diabetes Association (ADA) National Research Foundation and spent 10 years as Chairman its Annual Swing Away Fore Kids golf outing in Metro Detroit. Kenny graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Policy. He and his wife of 30+ years, Lainie, also a University of Michigan graduate moved to Florida from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan in 2020 and now split their time between Boca Raton, Florida and Aspen, Colorado. They have two grown children who also reside in S. Florida. Son, Michael (26) and daughter, Allie (29), lives with her husband, Jordan (Danzansky) and granddaughters, Poppy and Dylan. Kenny’s hobbies include pickleball, ice hockey, mountain biking, golf, hiking and skiing. He and his wife are active supporters of the University of Michigan Hospitals and UofM Football scholarship programs along with Theatre Aspen where Kenny serves on its Board of Directors, the Aspen Institute, the Detroit Holocaust Center and the “Master Builders” program for the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC.
