Paul Layne

Biographie: Paul H. Layne, Previously served as Chief Executive Officer and a Member of the Board of Directors of The Howard Hughes Corporation, overseeing one of the strongest real estate platforms in the country, including the preeminent portfolio of master planned communities. He is responsible for strategically positioning the company's acclaimed commercial, residential and mixed-use assets to drive sustainable, long-term growth and value for company shareholders. A senior executive at Howard Hughes since 2012, Mr. Layne previously served as President of the Central Region, overseeing the award-winning master planned communities of The Woodlands, The Woodlands Hills and Bridgeland in Houston, Texas, as well as providing executive oversight of communities and assets across the portfolio including Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Columbia, Maryland. During his tenure at Howard Hughes, Mr. Layne has identified and led the development of more than $1.2 billion of office, retail, apartment, hotel and industrial properties in The Woodlands, increasing The Woodlands NOI by nearly eight-fold. For more than 30 years, Mr. Layne has been a vital leader in Houston’s commercial real estate community as well as in national and international real estate. Prior to joining The Howard Hughes Corporation, Mr. Layne was Executive Vice President at Brookfield Properties Corporation, overseeing the financial performance of a 9.7 million square-foot portfolio in Houston’s Central Business District. He was responsible for all of the region’s activities including leasing, operations, property management, legal, accounting, development and construction as well as being a member of Brookfield’s global partnership task force. Prior to Brookfield, Mr. Layne was President of Cullen Center and Executive Vice President at Trizec Properties, which was acquired by Brookfield in 2006.
