Amy Meadows
Biographie: Amy Mettlen Meadows currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Parks for Downtown Dallas (PfDD), a private operating foundation focused on the long-term development and support of public parks within the city center of Dallas through a public-private partnership with the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. PfDD is managing the design and construction of four new parks that were identified in the 2013 Downtown Parks Master Plan Update. PfDD has committed more than $56 million in private funding to the project, and the City of Dallas has committed $39.4 million in bond funding. Pacific Plaza opened in October 2019, West End Square in March 2021, and Carpenter Park in May 2022. The fourth and final park, Harwood Park, will open in 2023. Concurrently, PfDD is raising endowment funds to assist the city in maintaining these parks in perpetuity. Prior to PfDD, Ms. Meadows served for 11 years as the vice president & executive director of The Belo Foundation, which was the philanthropic companion of Belo Corp. and A. H. Belo Corporation, legacy media companies in broadcast and print respectively. Established in 1952, The Belo Foundation became Parks for Downtown Dallas in 2015. Prior to its reconstitution as PfDD, The Belo Foundation awarded more than $54 million in grants during its 63 years of philanthropy. During her tenure, Ms. Meadows oversaw the Foundation’s largest grant in its history of $12 million to create the G. B. Dealey Center for New Media at the University of Texas at Austin Moody College of Communication. From 2001 to 2004, Ms. Meadows served as program director and then executive director of Social Venture Partners Dallas (SVP Dallas), which links business professionals and non-profit organizations by utilizing a venture capital model for philanthropy.
