Stuart Mercier

Biographie: Stuart is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cairdrow Capital, an alternative investment and advisory firm specializing in real asset investments across Asia. Before founding Cairdrow, Stuart built up two decades of investment experience, including thirteen years at Brookfield Asset Management in various leadership roles, including Managing Partner, Head of Asia Real Estate. Based in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and most recently Singapore, he established Brookfield’s real estate platform in Asia, growing it into a $12+ billion portfolio alongside building a high-performing team of over 400 professionals across China, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. His expertise spans a wide range of sectors and structures, from single asset turnarounds to complex corporate transactions. A champion of inclusive and sustainable growth, he spearheaded Brookfield's sustainability efforts in Asia, overseeing the firm's first net-zero corporate office and earning recognition as a 2022 finalist for ESG Leader of the Year in China. Stuart is a Board Member of the Canada China Business Council and serves as a Global Trustee and APAC Executive Committee member of the Urban Land Institute, the pre-eminent global non-profit focused on building a sustainable built environment. He holds a BA from Bishop’s University in Canada and an MBA from the University of Hong Kong and London Business School, where he was awarded the “New Generation of Leaders” scholarship. Stuart has received multiple honours, including the “Top 10 After 10” award from Bishop’s University in 2022 and the Silver Magnolia Award from the Shanghai Government for his contributions to the financial services industry in Shanghai.
