Wacker Drive, Suite 3700 Phone: (312) 569-1228 Fax: (312) 569-3228 E-mail: [email protected] After graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1993, I practiced in various areas of civil and structural engineering before going to law school. While in law school I researched public housing redevelopment in Chicago and concentrated my studies on real estate, housing and urban issues. I now practice general commercial real estate law, but I maintain a strong interest in urban redevelopment, affordable housing and the public policies that affect spending on these issues. I plan to become a developer on my own and work primarily in the affordable housing and urban infill sectors. I would like to be appointed to a council that takes advantage of my background in policy, law and design and my interest in urban development. I look forward to an opportunity to share my views, knowledge and information with other interested parties and people in the ULI council environment. I am confident that serving on any one of the three councils I have identified would be of great personal and professional value to me. I am also confident that I could make a significant contribution to ULI through my council membership. I lived in Los Angeles for about 4 years while practicing structural engineering. While in LA, I became a licensed professional civil engineer and I spent time working with and serving on the construction committee of Habitat for Humanity for central Los Angeles. I also acted as a project leader for LA Works, a clearinghouse for volunteer opportunities at public and low income housing sites in Los Angeles. I worked in Seattle as a consulting engineer for about a year on several large-scale public works type projects performing civil engineering design and project management. Part of my work involved assisting the Port of Seattle with project management of a portion of its capital redevelopment program at Sea-Tac Airport. Upon returning to Chicago I worked as a structural engineer for A. Epstein & Sons on the Midway Airport Redevelopment Project. So in addition to urban development, I have a strong professional interest in public sector work and I think I have the skill set and background to merge public-private partnerships, urban redevelopment, affordable housing and public policy issues. My professional resume is also attached. Please feel free to contact me with any questions and I look forward to hearing from the council.
