Biographie:
Thacher has extensive experience directing the financing, policy, and construction work associated with historic and affordable preservation transactions in New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Thacher’s work at Beacon Communities has included the acquisition, financial restructuring and rehabilitation of Dorado Apartments, a 189-apartment building in Yonkers; the renovation of the first state-funded public housing development in Boston; the adaptive reuse of Montgomery Mill into mixed-income housing, a lynchpin of Windsor Locks, CT’s economic development strategy; and the renovation of Ninth Square a mixed-use and mixed income development in the heart of New Haven. Thacher is currently overseeing the rehabilitation of developments in Rome, New York and New Haven, CT. Prior to joining Beacon, Thacher facilitated the acquisition, preservation and rehabilitation of properties in the Boston and Chicago areas as part of Preservation of Affordable Housing’s development group. Prior to joining Preservation of Affordable Housing, he was a Senior Associate with Recap Advisers, an affordable housing finance consulting firm, where he assisted owners with financial restructurings and government agencies with policy design. Thacher received a B.A. in Economics from Hobart College and a Master of City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Thacher is based in Brooklyn, New York.
