Reading List: Each class of the Leadership Institute dedicates their time to solving local land use issues through Leadership Projects, pro-bono community advising services offered by teams of Leadership Institute participants. Read each classes report below.

North Bay Village enlisted the Urban Land Institute Leadership Institute with transforming the underutilized Pirates Alley (“Pirates Alley” or the “Alley”) service road on Treasure Island by providing creative solutions to an otherwise challenging topic. This Report provides for both short-term and long-term improvement suggestions for the revitalization of Pirates Alley.
The City of Greenacres was identified as the location for the leadership institute project. At-large, the project seeks to establish a new downtown for the community through land-use and policy changes that can serve as an economic driver for the region. The ultimate objective of the LP not only identifies a location for a new district, but programming, policy and design options to support it.
The ULI Southeast Leadership Institute program is collaborating with Waterford Business District, its ownership group (Nuveen Real Estate and PIMCO), and the Miami-Dade Citizen’s Transportation Trust to enhance the East-West Corridor. As requested by the City of Fort Lauderdale, members of the ULI 2024 Leadership Institute program have prepared a comprehensive plan for constructing a new City Hall in downtown, following a rainstorm that rendered the previous building inoperable.
