Molly Maybrun
Biography: Throughout more than twenty-five years in development, Molly's focus has been on the creation and revitalization of large-scale, mixed-use, mixed-income neighborhoods in both small town and urban core settings. A highly capable, results-oriented manager, leader, negotiator and communicator, with a proven ability to build consensus amongst diverse stakeholders and deliver profitable projects in a timely manner, Molly currently serves as Chief Development Officer at Associate Capital, where she leads development and construction for the Power Station—a landmark redevelopment on San Francisco’s eastern waterfront. The project will include 2,000+ residential units, 1.6M square feet of commercial and life sciences space, a hotel, retail, and 7 acres of public parks. Before joining Associate Capital, Molly spent more than two decades in public-private development, managing a portfolio of thousands of market rate and workforce housing units and millions of square feet of commercial space through all phases of horizontal and vertical development. In addition to her private sector work for companies such as Catellus, Molly served in the administrations of Mayors Libby Schaaf in Oakland and Rudolph Giuliani in New York, where she negotiated deals for catalytic sites such as Howard Terminal, Times Square and Queens West. Across all roles, she’s developed deep fluency in property acquisition, disposition and due diligence; public and private deal structuring and negotiation; infrastructure finance; horizontal and vertical design and development at all scales; adaptive reuse; community outreach and stakeholder engagement; complex land use entitlements and CEQA; habitat restoration and mitigation; and environmental remediation. Molly’s passion for the built environment and attention to detail dates to her earliest development projects – including building a scale model of her childhood home for the family dog – and she has been known to take photos of trash enclosures, ADA ramps, and fire department connections while on vacation. Molly received her undergraduate education at the University of California, Berkeley, and her masters degree at The Wharton School. She lives in San Francisco with her husband, teen daughters, and pandemic puppy.
