Paul Peters
Biography: Paul Peters is a Principal at Hood Design Studio, a landscape architecture and public art practice based in Oakland, California. Paul leads major cultural cultural projects including the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina; the renovation of the iconic mid-century Oakland Museum of California; and Discovery Place Nature Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina. Paul's work focuses on the democratization of public realm through landscape-led master plans, museums, streets, parks, greenways and mixed-use developments. Paul has an adept ability to work across scales and typologies by employing a layered approach that seeks a hybridized outcome for the landscape. In addition to practice, Paul teaches design studio and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. And, previously taught design studios at the University of Berkeley California. Paul is a guest critic for universities and has participated in the ULI Advisory Service Panel.
