April 2007 STEVE ADELSON Partner As partner in Discovery Land Company, Adelson is responsible for overall quality control; overseeing planning and operation of both the communities and the clubs. This includes, acquisitions, entitlement, land planning, construction management, supervision of the architectural components, planning and operations of community recreational facilities and amenities, set-up and monitoring of the sales and marketing staff, as well as initiating a clearly defined and well-articulated vision for the long-term success and build out of each community. Prior to joining Discovery, Adelson enjoyed a long and successful career as a real estate development executive, and has gone through the entitlement process in various parts of the country, offering his leadership on projects in California, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, and Florida to name just a few. Adelson was co- founder of the acclaimed Raven Golf Clubs in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona, and played a major role in both of the clubs' developments, as well as helping to establish the conditioning and guest service standards that have made the Raven Golf brand a leader in the industry. After Raven Golf was acquired by Intrawest Golf in 1998, Adelson became Vice President of Development and Management, thus helping Intrawest Golf achieve a level of success that is envied within the industry. During his tenure with Intrawest Golf, Adelson directed the development of the company's interests at its project in Summit County, Colorado; at Southern Highlands and Lake Las Vegas in Nevada; and at Sandestin, its development in Destin, Florida. Adelson also is credited with creating many opportunities for growth within Intrawest Golf, and his supervision of Intrawest Golf's Golf Management division resulted in contractual agreements that brought many new golf properties into the Intrawest Golf portfolio. Prior to his involvement with Raven Golf and Intrawest Golf, Adelson served for ten years as Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development for Phoenix-based Gosnell Builders, the developers of The Pointe Resorts, Adelson oversaw the planning, construction, sales and leasing and ongoing management of the commercial, recreational and residential (including multi-family and single-family units) components at each of Gosnell Builder's three resort properties. All told, Adelson has been involved in the successful development and operation of more than 20 high-end golf courses and golf communities since 1984. Because of his expertise and his well-deserved reputation for innovation and excellence, Adelson was named one of the golf industry's "Top 40 Under 40" by Golfweek in 2001, which recognizes the industry's most influential executives under 40 years of age.
