Laura Bonich

Biografía:
Laura Bonich, PE LEED AP Laura specializes in identifying value engineering opportunities to reduce infrastructure construction cost by providing projects with engineering peer review. Laura has been involved with the feasibility and master planning of infrastructure for more than 125,000 lots in the United States and millions of square feet of non-residential development She champions the use of innovative best practices for infrastructure rather than a traditional code compliance design approach. She is an industry leader in the identification and quantification of the sustainability benefits associated with infrastructure. Previously Laura served as a Vice President for NV5 where she worked for 22 years. She has significant experience in the area of land development processes, regulations, and entitlement/permitting requirements and the preparation of master plans for large infill urban redevelopment and master plan community projects with an emphasis on the practical implementation of sustainable design practices for infrastructure. She combines a very strong technical background with project management, business development, financial analysis, public presentation, and negotiation skills. Laura also has significant experience in the USGBC LEED certification process and worked directly on the development of the LEED for Neighborhood Development rating system. She has extensive knowledge of the coordination of infrastructure master planning (transportation, water, waste water, reclaimed water and drainage), with an integrated approach to the optimization of project infrastructure to reduce construction cost. She has developed numerous infrastructure cost estimates and financing plans and negotiated development agreements, conditions of approval and mitigation measures. . Laura is full member of the Urban Land Institute (CDC Silver), past branch president of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Chair of the of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s National Technical Committee for the Envision rating system and a member of the Harvard Graduate School of Design Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory Board.
