Richie Butler
Biografía: RICHIE L. BUTLER July 28, 2006 Richie L. Butler is a principal and a governance committee member with CityView. CityView is a $500MM evergreen fund focused on financing urban workforce residential developments throughout the United States. CiyView's Chairman is former HUD Secretary Henry Cisneros and its equity partner is CalPERS. Mr. Butler manages regional investment activities in Texas, the Southeast and along the Atlantic coast. Mr. Butler has over 10 years of real estate development and finance experience that includes single-family, multi-family and mixed-use developments. Prior to joining the CityView team, Mr. Butler served as the managing partner of a boutique urban real estate development & consulting interest that advised and developed over $100 million of inner city real estate projects. His most noted development was Unity Estates, a planned community sponsored by the African American Pastor's Coalition in Dallas, which featured 285 single-family homes in Southern Dallas. This development was the catalyst that spurred new housing development in the southern sector of Dallas. Furthermore, it was been heralded as a national model because it was the first of a kind, where a coalition of 70 pastors joined together to create a community development project of its magnitude. Mr. Butler's other professional experience includes serving as a bank officer with Bank of America as well as serving as Deputy Political Director for U.S. Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts. Mr. Butler holds degrees from Southern Methodist University and Harvard University as well as extended Studies at MIT in Urban Planning and he was a Ford Foundation Fellow. He has lectured and presented on community economic development and housing matters at national conferences, universities as well as internationally in Africa. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Real Estate Council, executive member of the Dallas Sixty, board member of Downtown Dallas and Fannie Mae DFW advisory board and member of the Dallas Assembly.
