Biografía:
Lauren N. Cahill is a Senior Development Director at AvalonBay Communities (“AVB”), where she joined in November of 2011. Amongst her numerous responsibilities, she is presently overseeing the development of 1865 Broadway, a mixed-use tower that contains approximately 340,000 sf of residential and retail. She also is actively involved in AVB’s expansion into Southeast Florida, which was identified as a new market in 4thQ17. She previously managed the development of Avalon Willoughby Square/AVA Do Bro, an 826-unit residential tower located in Downtown Brooklyn, formerly known as the tallest building in Brooklyn. Lauren is actively involved in identifying, sourcing and underwriting future development projects in both New York and Florida. Prior to joining to AvalonBay Communities, Ms. Cahill was an Assistant Vice President of Development at the Gotham Organization, Inc. While at Gotham, Lauren was involved in the development of 200 West 72nd Street (a 196-unit luxury residential property) and assisted in the predevelopment phase and construction financing closing of Gotham West, a mixed-use residential/retail project in excess of 1 million square feet. From 2007 to 2009, Ms. Cahill was an Assistant Development Director at Western Development Corporation, located in Washington, DC. While there, she was responsible for managing the redevelopment of Georgetown Park, a 300,000sf retail and residential redevelopment project in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, DC, and the redevelopment of a 320,000 sf Class A office, retail and parking development in Towson, Maryland. Lauren’s early professional experience also included a position at Liberty Property Trust in Philadelphia, where she was a team member within the Urban and National Development Group. A trained architect, Ms. Cahill initially began her career with the esteemed architectural firm, Robert A.M. Stern Architects in New York City. Lauren received her BA in Architecture from Columbia University and a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, along with a Degree Certificate in Real Estate Design Development from the Wharton School of Business. She is a member of WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate and the Urban Land Institute (ULI), where she is currently a member of the Advisory Committee. Previously, she was Co-Chair for ULI New York’s Housing Council (2013-2016), the Co-Chair for the ULI Young Leaders Group (YLG) for ULI New York (2011-2013), Vice Chair for YLG ULI Washington (2008-2009) and Co-Chair of YLG ULI Philadelphia (2006-2007).
