Lita Dirks

Biografía: Lita Dirks, president of Lita Dirks & Co., is an award–winning, nationally recognized leader in model home merchandising. Lita consistently judges national and regional design competitions, conducts lectures and seminars and authors nationally published articles. Most recently she has spoken at events such as the 2018 International Builders Show, Southeast Building Conference and the CREJ Senior Housing and Care Conference in Denver, CO. A graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Design, Lita first began her career as a co-founder of Possibilities for Design, a nationally recognized interior design and model merchandising company. Then in 1995, Lita founded Lita Dirks & Co., which has grown into an award-winning interior design and model merchandising firm with model home, student housing, design center, community clubhouse and sales/leasing center projects across the country. Her professional affiliations include MIRM (Master in Residential Marketing), NAHB 55+ Housing Committee, NAHB Design Committee, NAHB NSMC (National Sales & Marketing Council), IIDA (International Interior Design Association) as well as a Seniors Housing Marketing Specialist with a CAASH designation. Lita has served on the IRM Boards of Trustees and the NAHB 50+ Housing Council Board of Trustees. Additionally, she currently sits on the NSMC Board and the NAHB Design Committee. She has chaired almost all of the NSMC and IRM committees, including in 1992 when she was Chairman of The Nationals Awards. In addition, Lita was awarded the IRM Presidential Award two years in a row and in 1993 was honored by the NAHB NSMC as the recipient of the prestigious Bill Molster Award. She was named as a “Legend” by the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver in 2016. Most recently, she was honored with an induction into the Best in American Living Awards Hall of Fame at the 2017 International Builders Show. Partnering with builders around the country, Lita and her company have participated in various civic programs including Habitat for Humanity (Denver and New Orleans), Brent’s Place, The Care Foundation, Adopt a Family, the Maria Fereri Children’s Hospital and many more.
