Christian Lessard

Biografía: Chris J. Lessard, AIA, is the founder and principal of Lessard Design Inc. His award-winning firm, noted for innovative apartment and multi-family designs, is recognized as a design leader not only in the Washington Metropolitan marketplace, but throughout the United States and Canada as well. He successfully heads a professional team of eighty-five architects, designers and land planners. Among Mr. Lessard's areas of expertise are high-density condominium and rental programs, high rise and mid-rise projects, neotraditional communities, in-fill projects, land planning and rezoning. A primary strength contributing to his success is Mr. Lessard's knowledge and talent in market analysis. A graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute, with a Bachelor of Architecture, Mr. Lessard began his career with the Berkus Group, Santa Barbara, CA. Four years later, he left to direct the Washington, DC office of another national design firm, The Martin Organization. It was from here that Mr. Lessard formed the first of several organizations, and has been leading the trend in residential design. Mr. Lessard is a registered Architect in seventeen states, including Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland. Today, Mr. Lessard is a recipient of over one hundred local and national awards over the past five years. His articles have been published in Builder Magazine and Professional Builder, and his expertise is continually sought for participation in seminars at national builder conventions and trade shows. He is an active participant in the National Association of Home Builders, Former Chairman of the Housing Committee for the American Institute of Architects, Trustee for the Multifamily Council, and is active in the Northern Virginia Builders Industry Association, and numerous land development and code committees.
