Diego Mandelbaum

Biografía: As Senior Vice President of Development at Creative Energy, I specialize in creating low-carbon community energy systems to significantly reduce GHG emissions. Having a business focus with an engineering background, I leverage technical expertise and commercial acumen to structure long-term partnerships for developing renewable district energy infrastructure across North America ranging from $10M to $200M in asset size, fostering a zero-carbon future. Before joining Creative Energy, I served as Managing Principal at Stantec's Buildings Engineering and Architecture business unit, co-leading a 300+ team in designing world-class commercial, educational, healthcare, and industrial buildings. Career highlights include: • Developing one of Canada's first ambient temperature geo-exchange district energy systems • Receiving the 40 Under 40 in Canadian Construction Award (2021) • Designing BC's first biomass heating system for healthcare, winning the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society Wayne McLellan Award (2020) • Serving on the Board of Directors for the BC Construction Roundtable (2019) • Founding a local Section of ASHRAE, and serving as the inaugural President for a 3-year term (2013 - 2016) Outside the professional sphere, I find balance on the mats, training, teaching, and competing in submission grappling as a jiu-jitsu blackbelt.
