Biografía:
Gretchen Milliken, an architect, urban planner, and strategist, is recognized for her creative problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and successful project management. She currently consults on diverse development projects related to architecture, design, land use, and affordable housing. Recently, Gretchen served as Planning Director for Park City Municipal, overseeing all land-use planning, including significant resort development applications, land annexation, and historic district management. Before her role in Park City, Gretchen spent eight years as the Director of Advanced Planning and Sustainability for Louisville (KY) Metro Government. During her tenure, she led the city’s short- and long-term planning initiatives, including Vision Louisville, Comprehensive Plan 2040, MOVE Louisville (Multi-modal Strategic Plan), and Prepare Louisville and GHG Emissions Reduction Plan. While in Louisville, she was actively involved in ULI, participating in the ULI Rose Fellowship, and initiating the Kentucky ULI District Council.?? Gretchen’s journey began in Stockholm, Sweden, where architecture and urban planning seamlessly intertwine with smart and sustainable growth. Throughout her 30-year career, she has accumulated a diverse resume encompassing architectural projects, urban planning initiatives, regional planning, multi-modal strategic planning, sustainability, climate resiliency, resort planning, and comprehensive plan updates.? Her holistic approach centers around people and their interaction with the natural and built environment, a philosophy that ensures each project not only meets the functional needs but also enhances the well-being of the community it serves.
