Rupert Nabarro
Biografía: Rupert Nabarro Managing Director Investment Property DataBank Rupert Nabarro is an economist with expertise in property markets; investment analysis; urban research; and economic development. He was born in 1945 and educated at Oxford (BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics) and University College, London (M.Phil Town Planning). After management training at the Economist Intelligence Unit and Schroders, he joined Roger Tym and Partners in 1974. For the next eleven years he was in charge of the firm's UK urban economic work. He left in 1985 to establish the Investment Property Databank (IPD). IPD is a database holding details of the individual properties of financial institutions, property companies, and other owners of commercial real estate in the UK. These organizations give details of their holdings to IPD, and receive a benchmark report on each of their funds. IPD publishes a property market index, which has become the accepted measure of real estate performance and is published by the Financial Times. All leading property owners in the UK provide details of their holdings to IPD, whose data covers more than $85 billion of property investment, and some 400-investment funds. IPD now employs some 100 staff. It has established similar services on a strictly comparable basis in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Sweden, Ireland, and South Africa; and is developing services in Belgium, Denmark, and Portugal. Its goal is to provide statistics for real estate of an equal quality and standing to those available for stock markets.
