Mark W. Zitzow is an accomplished urban planner with over a decade of experience in urban planning and economic development. As Principal Urban Planner at Johnson & Associates in Downtown Oklahoma City, he leads planning efforts, specializing in land use and urban infill development. His commitment to sustainable and vibrant urban environments drives his innovative planning solutions. Mark was also an Adjunct Professor in the Regional and City Planning Program at the University of Oklahoma, where he taught site planning. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Master’s Degree in Regional and City Planning from the University of Oklahoma. Mark has enhanced accessibility, walkability, and urban design in various districts. His work on the Bricktown Board and the City of Oklahoma City Stakeholder Advisory Team for the Oklahoma City Development Code Update demonstrates his dedication to thoughtful urban planning. He has managed significant projects such as the Yukon Comprehensive Plan, the OKANA entertainment resort entitlement process, and the Boardwalk at Bricktown rezoning effort. In addition to his professional achievements, Mark serves as Chair for Mission Advancement in the Urban Land Institute and is a member of the Congress for the New Urbanism. He has been recognized as one of Oklahoma Magazine's 40 Under 40 and received the Journal Record's Achievers Under 40 award.
