Session Summary: In this session, panelists addressed how the latest trends, particularly remote work and short-term rentals, are creating affordability challenges for resort communities, particularly for the residents who support the very industries that make those communities attractive. Practitioners from across the country discussed barriers such as restrictive zoning and NIMBYism and highlighted solutions they are using in their work, including community outreach and mixing affordable units in with market rate.
