Darys Avila

Biographie :
Darys Avila is a Senior Urban Designer and the lead representative of planning projects at Zyscovich, Inc. With 11 years of experience in both the public and private sectors, Darys has worked on a large number of urban design and planning projects throughout South Florida, such as the Art Deco Cultural District Vision Plan, where she collaborated with the City of Miami Beach to create a district-wide Urban Design and Mobility Framework Plan and vision for the City’s Culture, Art, and Mixed-Use Entertainment District. Across the country, she worked with the San Mateo County Transit District and Cross Bay Transit Partners LLC with The Dumbarton Rail Corridor Bike/Ped Analysis, which created a conceptual framework that envisions a safe and useful pedestrian and bike connectivity network that aligns with the transit alternatives considered in the South San Francisco Bay Area. She provides expertise in visioning, master planning and redevelopment, land use and zoning policy, and urban design. She has worked collaboratively in focused multidisciplinary teams and at varying scales—regional, community, downtown urban district and site-specific, to try to design and implement unique alternatives that benefit an area and a community on multiple levels and prepare both for the future. Darys earned her degrees in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in the Dominican Republic and a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in the City of New York.
