Gavin Buckley

Biographie : Gavin Buckley was elected as Mayor of Annapolis Maryland in 2017. A primary focus is the commitment to moving Annapolis forward. He is often quoted saying, “we have to celebrate our history, but you can’t get stuck in it.” In his first term as Mayor, he has successfully moved a number of climate initiatives forward. The first is the implementation and planning of short, mid, and long-term solutions to ongoing nuisance flooding at City Dock. This includes a community-sourced plan for the re-imagining of City Dock which will add a world-class waterfront park. This will be the largest municipal project in the City’s history. The second initiative is addressing the treatment of stormwater in the city. Both focuses will have long-term resiliency impacts within the community.
