Leigh Christy

Biographie :
Leigh Christy is a Principal in the Los Angeles studio of Perkins&Will, where she leads public- and private-sector projects that focus on benefitting communities, ecosystems, and occupants. She co-chairs the global design firm's Research Board, sits on its Technology Council, and led the Los Angeles studio’s Social Purpose pro-bono services program from 2009-2019. Leigh also co-created and leads the firm's Innovation Incubator program, which has supported more than 300 staff-generated research ideas through internal micro-grants. Working at the interface of architecture and urban design, she collaborates with clients and project teams to reach beyond what seems achievable. Growing up in northeast Ohio, Leigh knew that she wanted to positively influence her community at large. She graduated with degrees in architecture from the University of Michigan and the University of California, Berkeley. An adjunct faculty member of Woodbury University from 2008 - 2014, teaching design and theory, Leigh continues to sit on design juries and guest lecture across the country. She is currently a member of the AIA California's ArcCA Digest Editorial Board and the Climate Action Committee, as well as leads the new ULI Los Angeles Innovation Council. Leigh believes an architect’s influence doesn’t stop at the property line; for us to lay a better foundation for the future, we must learn from our projects, expose opportunities for innovation, and share the knowledge we gain.
