Gonzalo Echeverria

Biographie :
Gonzalo serves as Director of Planning and Design for McCord Development Inc. Over the past 20+ years, the focus of his work and education has been on architecture and urban design, urban/regional planning, and research. His areas of expertise include urban planning, placemaking, and urban redevelopment encompassing regional plans, comprehensive plans, master planning, development and implementation of form based codes, visual preference studies, and public participation process. Gonzalo served as Principal at LRK Inc., Urban Design Associates and URBE, and has worked on projects in Argentina, Venezuela, Chile, Mexico, Peru, Panama, United Kingdom and Canada, as well as in 42 states across the U.S. Gonzalo’s project experience includes a number of Master Plans for Commercial, Mix Use, Transit-Oriented, and Waterfront comm. New Communities, Urban Infill and Urban Revitalization Projects are a big component of his work. His project management experience includes coordinating the efforts of multiple professionals for publicly and privately financed projects. While in University of Miami, he worked for the Center for Urban Design and Community, fostering multidisciplinary initiatives that demonstrated the value of design in serving the public interest. Gonzalo is committed to applying sustainable principles to the design and development of communities, to utilizing a public, consensus-building process, and to creating pride of place and dwelling as a mirror of self. He seeks to design great places that promote sustainable thriving communities. Gonzalo has been a teacher at Bloustein School of Planning, Rutgers University.
