Mark Humphreys is the CEO of the largest multifamily and student housing architecture firm in the U.S., designing approximately 12-15% of the U.S. apartment market, which equated to about 40,000 units in 2014. The firm has 8 offices from coast to coast (including Dallas, Detroit, Charlotte, Chicago, New York, New Orleans, Newport Beach, Orlando, and Scottsdale), and has done work in all states except Alaska. Additionally, the HPA office never closes due to 6 international offices working while the U.S. sleeps. Humphreys & Partners is widely sought-after for architectural work, due to its in-depth knowledge of trends and demographics both nationally and internationally. His firm has developed several signature concepts which include The Big House®, E-Urban®, E-Max®, and the extremely efficient Home-Rise® for high-rise residential. Mr. Humphreys regularly represents his firm’s work at Seminars and Panels for NAHB’s International Builders’ Show, Multifamily Executive Conference, Urban Land Institute and regional conferences. He is an expert on the subject of The Manhattanization of America™ and has a vast knowledge of the multifamily development climate. Mr. Humphreys remains active with the Texas Tech College of Architecture. He created a Scholarship endowment fund, and is the largest donor to the Mark E. Humphreys, AIA Chair for Urban Design in the College of Architecture. Humphreys & Partners has participated in several Habitat Humanity Team Builds, the Dallas Center for Architecture Form Follows Fitness 5K, CANstruction and continues to make annual donations to the North Texas Food Bank. The firm has been featured in the Dallas Business Journal’s List of Largest North Texas Architectural Firms. In his capacity as a member of NAHB’s Multifamily Leadership Board, he has advised the Chairman of the Federal Reserve and the Secretary of HUD on the state of the U.S. apartment market. He is a member of NAHB’s Multifamily Leadership Board and Multi-Housing Council, National Multihousing Council, Urban Land Institute, DCFR (Dallas Committee on Foreign Relations), Nashville Ballet Board, and the American Institute of Architects.
