February 2004 February 2004 James N. Carbone, Partner Acquisitions, Office Specialist Mr. Carbone graduated cum laude from the University of California at Davis in 1978 with a B.A. in economics. Mr. Carbone began his career in commercial real estate in 1979, gaining experience in the management, brokerage, development, and disposition/acquisition of commercial real estate. He joined RREEF in April of 1995 as vice president of dispositions with primary responsibility for sales in the western states. Mr. Carbone moved into the acquisitions group in January of 1996, with primary responsibility for RREEF's northwestern markets, which include the San Francisco Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, Denver, and Salt Lake City. In December of 1997, Mr. Carbone was named partner and is now responsible for the operations of the acquisitions department on the West Coast. He is also a member of RREEF's Investment Committee and serves as the office specialist for the firm, responsible for oversight of national office building acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Carbone is active in numerous industry groups such as NAIOP, ULI and ICSC, and is a member of the board of directors of the Goodwill Industries San Francisco chapter. Since assuming responsibility for Seattle acquisitions in 1996, Mr. Carbone has overseen the acquisition of over 8 million square feet of industrial property, 1.5 million square feet of office property and 300,000 square feet of retail property.
