Nasra Nimaga
Biographie : Born in Hong Kong and raised in Nairobi, Nasra Nimaga is a New York City-based architect and photographer. As an architect, Nasra is a Senior Associate at Perkins Eastman and has experience working on primary and secondary education projects and civic work. Nasra is interested in the intersections of architecture and policy and believes that architecture can be a catalyst for positive change and all work should be approached with an openness to being self-critical and an awareness of the potential impacts—social, economic, and environmental. Nasra is committed to advocating for equity in the workplace and the AEC industry. Within Perkins Eastman, Nasra worked alongside others to establish the Perkins Eastman Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee. She is also the New York Champion of the Justice Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee for Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), has participated in the AIANY Civic Leadership Program, and is currently a participant in the AIA Next to Lead Program. Outside of her architectural pursuits, Nasra is also, a published photographer, and has displayed artwork at several exhibitions. Her portrait photography explores topics such as identity, faith, race, age, disability, and perceptions/standards of beauty.
