Walter Ploskon

Biographie : Walter J. Ploskon is a Principal with Niles Bolton Associates, a national multi-disciplinary design firm continually recognized by Architectural Record and Building Design and Construction magazines. He is the Managing Director of the firm’s regional office located in Alexandria, VA. With over 20 years of experience designing complex project types, Walter’s strength of strategic problem solving, with an emphasis on urban planning and design, has produced national and international projects of all sizes and budgets including multiple award-winning mixed-use multi-family and commercial projects. Walter is currently leading the design on a number of mixed-use multi-family projects including senior housing, student housing and transit-oriented development projects throughout the mid-Atlantic and Northeast. His pursuit of quality design while fostering a culture of mentorship and professional development at all levels reflects his genuine interest in realizing the potential in quality community development. A registered architect in eight states including the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia, Walter has served as a committee member with AIA|DC and NCARB and has participated in public speaking engagements on successful project management practices. He is currently a full member of Urban Land Institute and serves on the Suburban Development and Redevelopment Product Council and is active with the Maryland Building Industry Association’s Mixed Use/Multi Family Council. In 2017, Walter graduated from the Washington DC ULI Regional Land-Use Leadership Institute. Walter earned both his Bachelor and Master’s degree of Architecture from the University of Maryland and is LEED AP BD+C accredited.
