Biographie :
Christopher Rising is Managing Partner of Rising Realty Partners, LLC, a real estate investment firm based in Los Angeles, CA. Prior to rejoining the firm started with his father, Nelson Rising, in 2007, Mr. Rising was the Senior Vice President in charge of Strategic Initiatives and Asset Transactions at MPG Office Trust (formerly Maguire Properties), where he was responsible for acquisitions and dispositions and other major corporate initiatives (2008-2010). Prior to joining Maguire, Mr. Rising was the Managing Partner at Rising Realty Partners in charge of day-to-day operations, and had previously founded The Rising Real Estate Group, a real estate investment and brokerage company based in Los Angeles, which acquires commercial and mixed-used real estate assets, as well as real estate operating companies, through its private equity fund, Hamilton Capital Partners. Formerly, Mr. Rising was a Director at Cushman & Wakefield of California, Inc., joining after the company merged with Cushman Realty Corporation ("CRC"). Prior to the merger, Mr. Rising served in the Office of the President at CRC, working directly alongside brokerage legend John C. Cushman, III. Mr. Rising was also responsible for leading negotiations between CRC and both the City of Los Angeles and the State of California. Mr. Rising began his professional career as an attorney at Pillsbury Madison & Sutro working under Michael Meyer, nationally recognized as the premier attorney for representing tenants in their lease negotiations. As a real estate broker representing both landlords and tenants, Mr. Rising has participated in a variety of complex real estate transactions, including the purchase of the Great Western Forum, the sale of the Pacific Design Center, and the restructuring of debt for a major Chicago office and retail development. Mr. Rising Received his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1996. He received his B.A. from Duke University in 1991, attending on a football scholarship, with a dual major in history and political science. Mr. Rising has served as president of the Loyola High School Alumni Association and currently serves as a member of the Loyola High School Board of Regents. He also serves on the Athletic Advisory Board at Duke University and is involved with the Duke Alumni Association.
