Biographie :
President The Shaw Company Charles H. Shaw, Jr. is President of The Shaw Company. He oversees all construction operations for The Shaw Company. He is responsible for directing project teams and maintaining a project's schedule and budget, while meeting The Shaw Company's standards for the highest level of quality. Currently, Mr. Shaw is directing commercial construction of the Homan Square Community Center Health & Family Pavilion and the Chicago Park District's Natorium and Field house. Other tenants include Lawndale Christian Health Center, Robert Crown Center, Family Focus and the Electronic Learning Center. This 75,000 square foot facility will be the anchor to the already completed commercial and industrial space at Homan Square. Mr. Shaw also completed the oversight of constructing 300 new homes both multi-family rental units and single, duplex, or town-home units. He is also directing new home construction for our mid-rise condominium buildings, which will total 270 units located at Fountain Square, a luxury condominium development located in Lombard, Illinois. Since joining the firm in 1985, Mr. Shaw has worked on a number of projects including the $180 million renovation of the Chicago Hilton & Towers. He was involved in a joint venture between The Shaw Company and Embassy Suites, Inc., which resulted in the completion of six Embassy Suites Hotels in Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Washington, D.C. He also managed the new home construction, mid-rise residential apartment buildings, and Community Center at Luther Village with 644 new homes in a retirement village in Arlington Heights, Illinois. Mr. Shaw has worked on projects that reflect the firm's innovative approach to revitalizing inner-city neighborhoods. These include the Inn at University Village, which along with Garibaldi Square, brought new life to a threatened Chicago community and won the UCLA Award for Excellence in 1991.
