The City and County of San Francisco Mayor's Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) engaged ULI San Francisco to convene a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) of multidisciplinary experts from around the Bay Area to to provide insights on the Workforce Housing and Affordable Middle-Income (WHAMI) legislation. The TAP aimed to assess the challenges and financial feasibility of the WHAMI legislation, which seeks to expand housing for households earning 120% of the Area Median Income (AMI) or below in San Francisco. The two-day workshop included a presentation by MOHCD staff, interviews with key stakeholders from the city and community, and a brainstorming and analysis exercise. The panelists spent the remaining time discussing potential solutions and forming recommendations that were presented to the MOHCD staff who had briefed them on the first day.
