Michael Chiappa
バイオグラフィー:Mike Chiappa has served as Senior Vice President of Real Estate at APAH since January 2023. Previously, he has held numerous roles at APAH including Vice President of Real Estate Development and Director of Real Estate Development. Mike oversees all aspects of APAH’s $720.5M real estate development portfolio, including acquisition, entitlement, financial underwriting, legal documentation, and construction management, in addition to asset management since September 2022. Mike joined APAH in August of 2013 and served as the project manager for APAH’s first 4%/9% hybrid tax credit project, Columbia Hills, a 229-unit development that was completed in August 2018. The project won several awards in 2019, including the ULI Washington Trends Award for Excellence in Affordable Housing and the Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference Award for Best Affordable Housing Development. Under his leadership, APAH has received prestigious awards for its outstanding contributions to affordable housing. APAH’s Gilliam Place was presented with the Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference Award for Best Affordable Housing Development, for a second consecutive year in 2020. In 2021, APAH was named Developer of the Year by HAND, the Housing Association of Nonprofit Developers. APAH’s Queens Court Apartments was a recipient of Urban Land Institute’s inaugural 2022 Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Attainable Housing award, joining developers that span from the United States to Canada. APAH’s Lucille and Bruce Terwilliger Place, the organization’s first project with a veteran preference, received the Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference Award for Best Affordable Housing Development, the same year.
