lfred Fraijo is a partner in Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP’s Real Estate, Land Use and Environmental Practice Group in the firm’s Los Angeles and San Francisco offices. He is Team Leader of the firm’s Latin America Practice Group, a global initiative to provide specialized legal representation to Hispanic/Latino-owned companies and companies focused on the U.S. Latino market. Alfred handles cutting edge real estate transactions for public, private and non-profit developers and multi-national corporations in the United States and abroad. He has significant experience obtaining and negotiating entitlements for complex housing and mixed-use projects throughout California, including innovative, inner-city urban renewal and emerging market projects. He was recognized by Urban Land Magazine in its inaugural class of 40 under 40 for his contribution to the legal community and the field of urban development. For the past three years, Alfred has also been recognized as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers in California. Alfred advises public and private sector clients on state and federal land use and environmental laws, including the Subdivision Map Act, California Community Redevelopment Law, California Environmental Quality Act, National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, CERCLA, RCRA and California Superfund Law. He works closely with clients and consultants on due diligence review of land use issues, including local zoning ordinances, general plans, redevelopment agency plans, and related land use restrictions. Alfred has worked on some of the highest profile redevelopment projects in California. Alfred is active in associations and organizations focused on urban renewal issues and civic empowerment.
