As an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in the profession, Kona has championed initiatives that expand community access and amplify the role of landscape architects in addressing global challenges. A Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), Kona currently serves as National President. He continues to push the profession forward, emphasizing the critical need for nature-based solutions and climate-responsive design. His extensive involvement with ASLA, CLARB, LAF and ULI reflects his deep-seated passion for shaping resilient landscapes that support both people and nature.
