Kazi Haque
バイオグラフィー:Kazi Haque is a certified community planner (AICP). Currently, he serves as the planning director, Land Services Department, Douglas County, Washington. He also served as the assistant city manager for the city of Eloy, Arizona (Sept 2022 - June 2023). Prior to this, he worked for Yavapai County from August 2020 to August 2022 as a Land Use and Planning Manager overseeing the functions of code enforcement and the planning division. Before his retirement in July 2020 from the city of Maricopa, Arizona, he held the position of Deputy City Manager, and before that, he was the director Development Services Department. He has been employed with the city of Maricopa since October 2005. He was an integral part of the Development Services Department and has been involved with numerous projects in the city, including the top ten first new developments in Maricopa, among many others, the siting of the first ethanol plant, La Quinta Hotel, SR 347 Overpass, Union Pacific Railroad double-track, Copper Sky Regional Park, City Hall, Central Arizona College (CAC) Maricopa Campus, Walmart, First Apartment Complex (Horizon and Oasis at the Wells), City Hall, Banner Hospital, etc. Mr. Haque has over twenty-five years of public service experience and supervised current and long-range planning activities, including land use, housing, hazards mitigation, air quality, water resource, and environmental planning as well as supervision, governance, and public administration. During his tenure with the City of Maricopa, he has supported and established community-based outreach programs, mediation, and dissemination of information for projects to balance hyper-growth (4000%) and sprawl as experienced by the city in the mid-2000s. He was also successful in bringing American Planning Association CPAT (Community Planning Assistance Team) to visit Maricopa in 2011 and served as APA’s primary community liaison throughout the effort.
