SKIP SIMPSON Vice President of Asset Management Billingsley Company Skip Simpson began his career at the Billingsley Company in 2013 as asset manager of the office portfolio. In 2015, Skip also took over the retail asset management functions until he was promoted in 2016 to Vice President of Asset Management with a sole focus on the day-to-day management of the office portfolio. In the four years since Skip started at the Billingsley Company, Cypress Waters has grown from a field of grass to 3.3 million SF of office buildings, almost three quarters of a projected 25-year office development plan of four million square feet! As a result of Cypress Water’s initial success, exemplified by an impressive corporate roster that includes 7-11; Toyota Commercial Finance; Nokia; BNSF; Signet Jewelers; Sony; Morgan Stanley; CoreLogic; BT; Brinker and AMN Healthcare, the Company is aiming to increase zoning to allow for more than 8 million SF of office buildings. Prior to joining Billingsley, Skip worked for Deloitte for nine years. Skip spent the first three years in Deloitte’s audit practice primarily serving real estate companies before he transferred to Deloitte’s real estate valuation practice. In the valuation practice, Skip spent six years assisting publicly traded real estate companies with their fair value accounting and reporting by preparing and auditing appraisals of every property type. Skip’s recurring clients at Deloitte included BlackRock, Invesco, Goldman Sachs, USAA Real Estate, Behringer Harvard, Fannie Mae, Macquarie, Cemex, Bank of America and Exxon Mobil. Skip earned a Bachelor in Business Administration in Accounting and a Masters in Accounting and Information Technology from Southern Methodist University. Skip is an associate of the Urban Land Institute and a member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors and Real Estate Professionals.
