Zusammenfassung des Berichts:

The ULI Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate (the Center) leads the real estate industry in creating places and buildings where people and the environment thrive. In collaboration with ULI members and partners, the Lewis Center drives industry transformation, cultivates leaders and champions, and helps foster solutions for sustainable, resilient, healthy and equitable cities and communities. The Center pursues these goals via cutting-edge research, global convenings, community technical assistance, and other strategies. The Center’s main programs are Decarbonization, Urban Resilience, and Healthy Places.

The Annual Impact Report for Fiscal Year 2024 shows the deep impacts and high value of the Center’s work for members and communities. Some topline outcomes from the report include:

  • Lifted up best practices for cities and the real estate industry with 37 publications that reached 37,000 + readers.
  • Promoted learning and connection with over 200 events that reached over 19,000 people, including 31 webinars with over 7,500 attendees.
  • Met ULI member needs, with 95% of participants in our surveys saying that they strengthened their knowledge or learned something new, and 95% saying that they will apply insights to have an impact in their community.
  • Provided grants totaling $246,000 to 21 District Councils participating in the Net Zero Imperative Cohort; the Just, Green, Ready Communities Cohort; the Resilient Land Use Cohort; and more.
  • Cultivated champions for sustainability, fostering learning and action with three global leadership programs: Greenprint, Waterwise Development Coalition, and Health Leaders Network.
  • Drove community change with 9 Technical Assistance and Advisory Service panels, bringing valuable member expertise to complex real estate and land use, sustainability, resilience, and health challenges.

In addition to these impacts, the report details industry challenges addressed by our responses, showcasing some key actions in this year’s areas of impact:

  • Catalyzing healthy and sustainable building materials and practices
  • Advancing the green and equitable energy transition in real estate
  • Helping the real estate industry understand and mitigate climate risk
  • Fostering more resilient, health and equitable communities
  • Uplifting funding opportunities for sustainability projects and priorities
