General Manager, Peel Housing Corporation, Ontario’s third largest municipal affordable corporation, 2010 – 2017. Current Civic Engagement & Leadership: Theme: Affordable housing is the foundation of personal well-being, social mobility and healthy inclusive communities in Toronto Member: Housing Committee – Black North Initiative (Housing Committee) Media/Advocacy panelist: Toronto Board of Trade in two reports highlighting the need for Workforce Housing in the GTA. Relevant Highlights: Affordable Housing Developer: Responsible for WoodGreen’s affordable housing growth & development strategy, including: - Lead in the development of Toronto’s first National Co-Investment & the City’s Open Door programs funded housing development of 36 units for low income and high needs seniors. Completed during pandemic and occupied June 2021 - Lead in the development of terms for a new partnership model with private developer Daniels Corporation & Sunlife to sign a 40-year leasehold to provide 34 affordable housing units for WoodGreen clients in a market rental apartment in downtown Toronto - Lead in the formulation of an MOU with Castlepoint Numa Inc. to deliver & manage 300-400 new affordable housing units in Toronto in the next decade - Lead in developing terms of agreement with DiamondCorp to acquire permanently 7 Condo units in a 39 storey building - Key Outcomes: New Affordable housing, Evaluation of affordable Housing development & Term Sheets for future private sector/non-profit partnerships. Advocacy & Thought Leader: I have 20 plus years of experience and is an acknowledged thought Leader having represented for years, the affordable housing sector internationally and locally in the media.
