Michael Roberts

传：Michael J. Roberts is Regional SVP of Development and head of AvalonBay’s Boston Corporate Office. Mr. Roberts is responsible for overseeing new development opportunities in Greater Boston, the Mid-Atlantic, and North Carolina and serves on AvalonBay's Management Investment Committee. With over 35 years of experience in the real estate industry, Mr. Roberts has overseen the investment and development of $2.6 billion in real estate assets, including over 8,000 apartment homes with a budgeted cost of over $2.0 billion since joining AvalonBay in 1997. Prior to joining AvalonBay, Mr. Roberts worked for Edison Capital where he was responsible for the origination and investment in tax credit apartment developments. Prior to his employment with Edison Capital, Mr. Roberts worked for Winthrop Financial Associates as Vice President of Investments where he was responsible for originating and investing in both apartment communities and commercial properties. Mr. Roberts served as the Chairman of Boston’s Back Bay Association and is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. He also serves on the Board of Directors of A Better City, the Archdiocese of Boston Finance Council, served on Mayor Menino’s Housing Boston 2020 Advisory Panel, and is the recipient of the Rental Housing Association President’s Industry Excellence Award. Mr. Roberts received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Dartmouth College in 1987.
