Laélia Vaulot

Biographie:
With a multidisciplinary foundation spanning engineering, architecture, and environmental research, Laélia Vaulot founded lab V to bring a rigorous yet innovative approach to integrating scientific insight with strategies that drive lasting impact. Before launching lab V, Laélia served as Environmental Strategy Lead at PCA-Stream, an architectural practice based in Paris. There, she developed comprehensive environmental programs for major renovations of patrimonial buildings such as BERGÈRE X PARIS and AXA HQ Matignon, as well as large-scale new constructions like the Bobigny Courthouse, the second-largest in France. She worked extensively on carbon reduction methodologies at the urban scale, notably for the transformation of the Champs-Élysées Avenue. Alongside her environmental work, she fostered dialogue between art and science, curating conferences that examined topics such as AI and creativity, as well as the contemporary challenges of creation through the prism of materiality. Laélia’s expertise is rooted in a strong technical background. She trained as an engineer at École des Ponts et Chaussées in France and earned a Master in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT. Her passion for design and building led her to pursue a Master of Architecture at Yale University. Early in her career, she worked in London, specializing in art installations and event structures, before moving to San Francisco, where she conducted research on innovative seismic reinforcement systems. Of French and Vietnamese heritage, Laélia grew up between Europe and Asia before beginning her career in the United States. Drawn by the momentum of Paris’s climate-driven transformation, she returned to the city to learn from it and further refine her expertise. She is now focused on sharing this Parisian know-how with the world. With lab V, Laélia continues to explore how research-driven strategies can shape resilient, forward-thinking projects—whether through environmental consulting for buildings and urban spaces or by guiding the integration of scientific inquiry into artistic endeavors.
