Cincinnati, OH - Advisory Services Panel Report
The Camp Washington and Queensgate neighborhoods are situated at the crossroads of critical road, rail, and bridge infrastructure in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, positioning the area as a prime location for manufacturing, logistics, and distribution. Historically industrial neighborhoods, Queensgate and Camp Washington are under increased scrutiny today by site selectors as well as municipal leaders, as both groups work to identify the next large industrial parcel with which to attract a new significant industrial employer to the region. The Port of Greater Cincinnati Development Authority (The Port) is the public agency in Ohio’s Hamilton County chargedwith the equitable redevelopment of commercial and residential properties in Hamilton County. Working in partnership with other key agencies, The Port helps to ensure that the region’s land is put to its highest and best use. Through its extensive work across Hamilton County, The Port identified Camp Washington and Queensgate as likely areas for additional industrial growth and the associated employment growth that comes with attracting new businesses. Assembling large parcels for new industrial development, however, has proven challenging, as available land is limited and the parcels owned by The Port are not contiguous. The ASP provided strategic recommendations on how The Port can identify and establish a more viable, market-driven real estate and economic development plan across the Queensgate and Camp Washington neighborhoods to help drive additional job growth in Cincinnati.
