Session Summary: During this thoughtful conversation, Duke Reiter and Mayor Gallego addressed how many cities have been facing national, and even global, issues, including the housing crisis and the Covid-19 pandemic. Mayor Gallego emphasized that Phoenix’s position as a place of innovation enables it to pursue creative solutions to these problems. The conversation contextualized housing in a broad system that requires public-private partnerships and complementary investments in infrastructure, transportation, resilience, and more in order to improve the housing challenges faced by Phoenix residents.
