Roland Bird Anderson

Biography: R. Bird Anderson, Jr. Executive Vice President Homebuilder Banking Wells Fargo Commercial Real Estate R. Bird Anderson, Jr. is an Executive Vice President and head of Homebuilder Banking for the Commercial Real Estate Group at Wells Fargo. In this role, he is involved with banking services provided to regional homebuilders and land developers in offices across key markets in the U.S., as well as the national/public homebuilder client base. Wells Fargo is a leading capital provider in the industry. The business represents an integrated platform which includes partners and referral points in Commercial Real Estate, Mortgage, Investment Banking, Fixed Income, Treasury Services, Wealth Management and other product and advisory areas at Wells Fargo. Anderson joined Wachovia, predecessor to Wells Fargo, in 1985 after graduating with a BA from Vanderbilt University where he double-majored in History and Economics. He served in various roles in mortgage, real estate and syndications at Wachovia prior to taking a role as head of Homebuilder Banking in 2001. From 2009 until moving into his current role, Anderson managed a unit of the Wells Fargo Real Estate Managed Asset Group focused on homebuilder and residential project restructurings, workouts, and modifications. In addition to his degree from Vanderbilt, he holds an MBA with Beta Gamma Sigma honors from the Executive program at Georgia State University. Civic and community activities and leadership include HBA, ULI, Little League coaching, and church Vestry, stewardship and youth committees. He is married to Virginia Anderson and they are the parents of three boys. As the parent of a son who is the recipient of a heart transplant, Bird is an advocate for various transplant and organ donor programs and organizations.
