David Amalong

Biography: David Amalong PLA, LEED AP has more than 30 years’ experience in urban design and landscape architecture. Moving easily between large-scale planning and detailed design and implementation, David blends social equity, quality design, and ecological intelligence in all his projects. Recent work has focused on transit-oriented development and mixed-use districts. His approach to public realm is focused on the synthesis of the experiential, physical and contextual elements of design by considering how one moves through space and time in a space or place. It is the craft of mixing these ingredients that results in places that become a truly memorable experience. David is a Professional Landscape Architect and a leader of Stantec’s Urban Places Group and Landscape Architectural Practice. The recipient of numerous international, national, and regional awards from the American Institute of Architects and American Society of Landscape Architects, he earned a bachelor's degree in landscape architecture from Pennsylvania State University. He resides in Charlotte, North Carolina.
