Biography: Richard Albrecht President, Kukuiula Development Company, Hawaii Kauai, Hawaii Richard Albrecht is a developer and management professional with over 30 years of experience in the development and operation of successful luxury resort communities. Richard’s expertise is in leading the development for resort communities that create long term value by integrating top quality development with first class resort operations. He has extensive experience in Hawaii and the Rocky Mountain region. For the past 8 years, Richard has been President of Kukuiula Development Company. Kukuiula is a luxury resort community being developed on the South Shore of Kauai, Hawaii. The community is owned by Brue Baukol Capital Partners from Denver, Colorado. The community includes a full package of resort amenities, and will ultimately include up to 1,500 homes. Richard leads the real estate development and sales functions of the project, as well as the service operations of the private club that provides amenities and services to homeowners. As President, Development for Miraval Resort in Tucson, Arizona, Richard led the master planning for the renovation, expansion and new residential development of this top ranked destination spa. Richard also led the planning and development for new properties as the company expanded from one location into a multi-site company of “wellness lifestyle” communities. These properties incorporated extensive sustainable development practices, with a focus on creating healthy living environments for guests and residents. As Chief Operating Officer for Talisker Deer Valley, Utah he led the development and successful launch of an enclave of lots at the top of Deer Valley Ski Area, and managed the development and successful re-launch at Tuhaye, a golf and ski-oriented community in Park City, Utah.
