Alfred Battle

Biography: Al Battle Jr. is a public sector professional with over twenty-five years of experience in the local government primarily focused community development, redevelopment, and real estate development. Career stops have included time working for Pulte Home Corporation, City of Jacksonville, and for the past sixteen years with the City of Fort Lauderdale. He has led redevelopment activities in Jacksonville and Fort Lauderdale where he has successfully completed area-changing projects including mixed-use development, affordable housing projects and major infrastructure investments. In his current role with the Development Services Department as Deputy Director he manages the department’s operations focused on building permitting, human resources, information technology and budgeting. Al earned his MPA from Florida Atlantic University with primary college studies at the University of Florida, the University of North Florida. He is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional and Housing Development Finance Professional through the National Development Council. He is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership Institute program of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
