Andrew Baron

Biography: Andy Baron is Founder and President of ABLA with more than 25 years of experience in landscape architecture, urban design, and planning. Prior to launching ABLA, Andy was a founding Partner and Principal of Anderson Baron. His passion for design, and masterful execution can be seen in the inspiring spaces he and his team create. Under Andy's leadership, ABLA has grown into more than 30 landscape architects, planners, and support staff within its office in Tempe, Arizona. Throughout his work history, Andy’s steadfast determination to create meaningful, unique spaces that embrace the surrounding culture, character and environment is visible in a wide range of projects, including commercial developments, campuses, park planning, resorts, healthcare, master-planned communities and numerous other creative projects. Andy’s ability to articulate and convey information and concepts makes him a natural leader, as he believes that exceptional design and its integration are products of consistent and effective team collaboration. His contributions to a diverse blend of projects reflect a wealth of knowledge and expertise in creating design solutions that are functional and adaptive to clients’ needs. Andy holds professional landscape architecture registrations in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and Texas, and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Civic Activities, Achievements: In addition to his professional work experience, Andy is the former Chairman of the City of Chandler Planning and Zoning Commission, a position he held from 2010 - 2018. Andy has participated in numerous public speaking engagements at industry related seminars providing valuable information regarding practice methods, lessons learned and forward-thinking habits to create exciting and timeless places. Andy has been a guest lecturer at Arizona State University within The Design School for the undergraduate and graduate school landscape architecture students.
