Carlos Burneo

Biography: Current Responsibilities Mr. Burneo is a Senior Director at Nuveen Real Estate and focuses on acquisitions, asset management for multifamily and mixed use assets in Florida. In addition he also participates on evaluating investment opportunities in Latin America for Nuveen Real Estate and inbound capital joint venture opportunities in the United States through Nuveen Real Estate platform. Over the last 17 years Carlos worked at every facet of the capital structure; participating as a lender, owner, developer and advisor. Previous Work Experience Prior to joining TH Real Estate, Carlos previously worked for JLL Capital Markets Miami office focusing on cross border investment sales in the Florida market as well as in Latin America. Prior to JLL, Carlos worked at BIA later known as Trade Street Capital, real estate investment advisory firm based in Miami. During his seven years at the firm, Carlos managed investments on operating assets and ground up development projects with an excess value of $1B - 7,000 units. During 2012, he participated on the company merger, combining the investment advisory firm and funds’ assets into a multifamily REIT listed in NASDAQ. In addition, Carlos was the Managing Director for Properties and Capital, a real estate investment advisory and development firm focused on private and institutional investors in Latin America and United States. He was responsible for the development of commercial and residential projects as well as for acquiring operating properties for Properties and Capital in the Andean Region. Carlos also worked on acquiring and managing real estate assets in South Florida for private clients, family offices and commercial investors. The firm participated in residential and commercial transactions since 2008. Education and Affiliations Mr. Burneo holds a MSc. Of Engineering from Stanford University and received a BA degree in Architecture from University of San Francisco of Quito. In addition, Carlos holds a Florida real estate sales associate license and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.
