Ivonne Berrios
Biography: Ivonne Berrios is the Chief Operating and Financial Officer for the Miami Downtown Development Authority (Miami DDA), an autonomous governmental agency of the City of Miami whose mission is to grow, strengthen and promote the economic health and vitality of Downtown Miami. As the COO, provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that the Miami DDA has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems to effectively grow the Agency and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. As the CFO, she is responsible for developing, monitoring, and evaluating overall Agency strategy with the CEO/Executive Director and senior management, emphasizing performance, and enhancing value. Provides valuable financial insights to help make better decisions about formulating and executing strategy. Ivonne worked as Portfolio Accountant for an investment firm, overseeing the accounting and finances for properties in the United States and Canada. Before that, she was a Senior Auditor in an accounting firm where she audited financial statements, internal controls and performed risk assessments. Years before, she served as a national bank's Finance and Real Estate Manager, overseeing the operations, accounting, and finances of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean territories. She did internships in prestigious CPA firms and was able to work for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Ivonne holds a Dual bachelor’s degree in accounting and marketing from the University of Puerto Rico and a Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico.
